PLEASE NOTE! This is a version of Impulse designed for use in the EdGE Leveling Up study of 2015 and is only accessible to people enrolled in the study. If you are not in the study, please download our game called "Impulse by EdGE".Embedded in a sea of enemy particles, players must avoid collisions as theypropel their own particle to the goal. New levels bring new challenges andnew forces to contend with. Players have to budget their energy use as theygrapple with gravity, electric forces, and the effects of Newton's laws ofmotion.Hint: Be Patient, don't get click happy. Click on one side of the greenparticle to create an explosion which propels it in the opposite directiontowards the goal. Closer you click the faster it goes.EdGE On the edge of science and play! The Educational Gaming Environments group (EdGE) at TERC hopes to show that learning happens in all kinds of places by investigating the possibilitiesand challenging the assumptionsof game-based learning environments. EdGE is designing and studying games whose mechanics mirror real scientific phenomena, but more importantly, are fun to play.EdGE at TERC Copyright 2013.Work made possible by funding from the National Science Foundation (DRK12 grant #1119144).
