DateDeposit is a FREE service which compensates you or your group when someone you invite doesn't show up or is late to an event you have planed.Don't get ditched by your friends ever again! We wish we could eliminate that problem, but we can't force people to honor their own words. So we did the next best thing - we make them pay for it!All participants are required to deposit an amount between $10-$100 to ensure their commitment to your event (including yourself). As long as you check-in when you arrive at the event location (25 meter radius) within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, you will not be charged.Upon creating an event, we offer the ability to store it into your calendar - perfect for situations where you don't want to always be checking the app to know when your next appointment is taking place. In addition, we also offer geo-notifications to help remind you that it is time to check-in.How are payments distributed???Payouts are as according to the formula:My Payout = (Sum of all offender's deposits * 90%) / (# of non-offenders). DateDeposit claims a fee of 10% only on failure to show up - never on successful check-ins. The maximum number of participants for an event is 5 at the moment.Example #1: Consider yourself as one in a two-participant event where both of you promised $10. If the other person doesn't show up (failure to check-in), he / she loses their deposit. You get to keep all of your money PLUS 90% of the other persons initial deposit, which in this case would be $9. ( ($10 * 90%) / 1 = $9)Example #2: Let's say there are a total of 5 participants including yourself and everyone promises $100. If 1 participant doesn't show up, he / she forfeits their deposit. The remaining 4 participants who were present are not charged anything AND will each receive $22.50 of the combined losses of the offenders' initial deposits ( ($100 * 90%) / 4 = $22.50). Inversely, if there were 4 offenders and you were the only non-offender, your payout would be (($400 * 90%) / 1 = $360)In the case where no one shows up, the event will be automatically canceled and no one will be charged.Users can only cancel events 24 hours in advance of the start time. For events created within 24 hours, there is no way to manually cancel; however, if there are no attendees (check-ins) the event will be automatically canceled and you will not be charged.This application determines your location in the background to provide you with geo-notifications as a reminder to check-in when you are close to the event location.
